Arrival At Beijing!

ARRIVAL AT BEIJING!!(Day 1)

After 6 hours of flight we have arrived at Beijing International Airport, everyone looked tired as we all did not slept well during the flight except for Cheng Hao (Bottom Right) who slept soundly throughout the flight.

The first thing we noticed about Beijing is how cooling the weather is compared to Singapore, the flight attendant told us that the temperature at Beijing right now is 20 deg. We were all like " Shiok ah free aircon!". Due to congested landing, we had to take a bus to the immigration as the plane landed far away from it.

Shortly after we passed the immigration, we got our sim cards sorted out and had our breakfast at the airport. All of us fell asleep while waiting for three students volunteer to pick us up from the airport and bring us the Beijing Technology and Business University.

Finally after a short while the students volunteer contacted us when they arrived, and we all woke from our slumber and proceed to follow them to the car park to our transport

The students volunteer are extremely kind and friendly, offering us to help us with our luggage by being the man that we are we insist on carrying the luggage on our own

Everyone on board and begin the journey of 1+hour to reach BTBU. During the journey we introduced ourselves to the student volunteer and converse for a short while before most of us return to our slumber on the bus.

When we arrived at BTBU, the student volunteers helped us with our lodging we were all excited towards the room where we have to spent the next 3 months with. That excitement was crushed when we entered the room and realized that there is a lot of cleaning that needs to be done. We asked the student volunteers for the location of the nearest supermarket to get our cleaning equipment and household products. Instantly we missed how back in Singapore everything is being handled by our parents, but being independent is one of our reasons for this immersion program so we all spent all of our free time on Day 1 cleaning out our rooms. After much cleaning, the rooms are very pleasant and cozy almost as though it felt like home, but the home back in Singapore is still so much better!

After cleaning our rooms we went to the student office to meet Mr Danny and the teachers that are in charge of foreign students. We chose our modules and fill up information for our student card over here.

This is the West Entrance, our rooms are all located at the East except for Liang Ping and Yu Xuan as they are sharing room, their room is located at the West area.

After everything is settled, we went out at night with Mr Danny to hunt for our dinner. The street opposite BTBU is filled with restaurants, so much that we could not decide on which one so went to KFC instead . The KFC here is very different from Singapore, the menu boast a lot more variety and the price is slightly cheaper than in Singapore. After we all had our dinner we went back to our rooms to rest and prepare for Day 2.
