Once we reached the station, we learnt that we needed to purchase a card (Yi Tong Ka) similar to Singapore Ez-link card. Thus, all 8 of us purchase ours at the station.
After which, I was surprised that bags were needed to go through an x-ray machine screening at every station's entrance. I'm amazed at Beijing's security level!
We then proceeded to the platform and studied the subway map as our first destination is Yuan Ming Yuan. We realized that it is required to change line once in order to reach Yuan Ming Yuan. Thereafter, we queued up for the subway.

Once we reached, we proceeded to buy some snacks as some of us have yet to eat breakfast.
And purchased the tickets for each of us

Yuan Ming Yuan was too huge to complete it by afternoon, hence we only finished about 50% in around 3 hours. Afterwards, we took a picture with the banner at the entrance.
We then proceeded to Wang Fu Jing and we were welcome dwith the sight of live scorpion and many other exotic foods. (Which we didn't try)
This shop was recommended by Mr Danny Lee for their pau and this was our dinner which was treated by Mr Danny Lee
After dinner, we continued walking and finished the whole stretch of Wang Fu Jing and some of us decided to go back to hostel while some decided to stay and explore furthermore. We also parted ways with Mr Danny Lee.
Overall, all of us found today to be a fruitful day as we found a place for shopping and learnt how to commute via subway which is important for us.
