On the 23rd of October, Sunday, we went to Jen Hotel@Chaoyang to attend a SG family day, organised by the Singapore embassy. We signed up for this event 2 weeks in advance and we were glad to see so many fellow Singaporeans attending the event. We set off from BTBU at around 10am and we split into 2 cabs, the journey took about 45 minutes.

As the event started, we had a brief introduction about the nonya culture and there were dance performances as well, and a mini fashion show performed by young children. Shortly afterwards, we went for lunch at the outdoor booths and they had many local delicacies, such as nasi lemak, mee siam, prata, satay and curry puffs. However, the prices were a little expensive but we still spend over 100yuan/person as we simple couldn't resist! The earnings would all go to charity anyway and hence, we had no complains.

After we finished lunch at about 1pm, we decided to head to Sanlitun for shopping and dinner. We took the bus and arrived at Sanlitun around 2pm. As some of us were tired from walking, we split into 2 groups, some rested at a cafe and the others went around taking photos and shopping. Davyn and Kaizhong even had a surprise for them as they were stopped for an interview.
After exploring Sanlitun for the whole afternoon, we decided to have dinner around the area and found a nearby restaurant selling american food. We mostly had burgers and fries, a fresh change from the usual Chinese food we had been eating.

We finished dinner around 7pm and were feeling a little tired after being out the whole day. Hence, we decided to head back earlier and took a 1 hour bus ride back to BTBU. It was an eventful day and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves through the singapore event and spending time together at Sanlitun.
And that's all for now, we are approaching the halfway mark of the trip and all of us are feeling great! Stay tune for more updates!
